This week on Classic Movies Live!, our hosts take a more detailed look at one of Jeff’s favourite movies of 2023, Late Night With the Devil!
Centred around the fictional talk show “Night Owls with Jack Delroy”, Late Night stars David Dastmalchian as one of the only variety show hosts ever to give Johnny Carson a run for his money. With his show at risk of getting cancelled, Jack Delroy devises a TV event that will “shock the nation”, involving a showcase of the supernatural on live cable television during Sweeps Week! But as the show progresses, it quickly becomes clear that Jack has bitten off more than he can chew when it comes to the occult.
After debuting at festivals to rave reviews, Late Night has enjoyed a spirited theatrical run, and is soon to be available on Shudder. Our hosts both saw it in theatres, and we’re excited to advise you to do the same! Tune in as Pierre and Jeff break down the directorial debut of Colin and Cameron Cairnes!
