In 2005, critics all over the world predicted that Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain would win the 78th Academy Award for Best Picture. Imagine their shock when Crash won instead!
This week, our hosts talk about one of the most controversial Best Picture winners of the last 20 years. Featuring an all-star cast including Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock, Thandie Newton, and Terrence Howard, Crash missed its singular acting nomination for Matt Dillon. The movie did however nab Best Film Editing and Best Screenplay in addition to its Best Picture win.
