Promising Young Woman is a bold movie that handles the topic of sexual assault in a way thoroughly unlike any other movie that’s come before. Several years after her college best friend Nina was assaulted, Cassie Thomas (Carey Mulligan), now a med-school dropout, spends her nights finding and punishing sexual predators. When she finally discovers Nina’s abuser, she sets in motion a plot to avenge her friend, while bringing down everyone else around her.
